Completed at Institute of Ukrainian Archeography and Source Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine his candidate’s thesis, ‘Materials of Povit Courts of Left-Bank Ukraine as a Historic Source (the end of the XVIII — 60ies of the XIX century)’ (2009);

Defended a thesis for the degree of Doctor of Historical Sciences. The thesis, entitled ‘Civil officials of public institution of Ukraine (end of XVIII — first half XIX centuries): sociocultural characteristics, the system of rewards and punishments’ (2015).

 

Experience:

From 1999 till 2003: teacher of history and law at the secondary school №3 (Sumy, Ukraine).

In 2003: methodologist of the Department of Education and Science under the Sumy Regional State Administration.

From 2003 till 2006: junior researcher of the Regional scientific research laboratory-center of historical local studies of Sumy State University.

From 2006 till 2009: senior researcher.

From 2005: the founder and editor-in-chief of the scientific historical journal «Sumy historical and archival journal».

From 2009 till 2020: lecturer assistant, senior lecturer, associate professor, professor of the Department of History and Department of Constitutional Law, Theory and History of the State and Law of Sumy State University.

From 2016: Head of Research Center for Local History of Sumy State University.

From 2016: expert of research projects in the Section «Philosophy, History and Political Science» of the Scientific Council of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The history of the North-Eastern Ukraine of the XVIII — XX centuries; the civil officials of public institution of Russian Empire (XVIII−XIX cent.); the system of public education in different areas of the Russian Empire in the period before 1917; processes of Ukrainian nation-building and state-building (XVIII — XX centuries); biographical studies.
