Established
Cherkas Global University is an independent research institute founded on August 1, 1992. Throughout its history, the organization has been reorganized several times: in 1992 it was created as a Military History Society, on May 26, 2014 — the International Network Center for Fundamental and Applied Research. On January 8,2021, the International Network Center for Fundamental and Applied Research was renamed Cherkas Global University.
Geography
Our organization is international with a multicultural workforce from three continents (North America, Eurasia, and Africa). The geography of our employees covers countries such as the USA, Spain, Ghana, Russia, Ukraine, Serbia, and Israel.
Research Themes
Since 1992, our organization has been conducting research and educative work in the field of military history (the history of the armed forces of the Russian Empire, military conflicts on the territory of the post-Soviet space), as well as studying the local history. Between 1992 and 2010, the foundation was laid for the establishment of our organization’s publishing house: from 1992 to 1997, the newspaper “Vestnik Leib-Gvardii” was published; in 2003, its title was changed to “History and Historians in the Context of the Time”; since 2006, the journal “Bylye Gody” has been published.
Since 2014, our organization has been researching the fields of history of world civilizations (including the study of slavery), sociology, PR-technologies (including the history of military propaganda), as well as pedagogy and history of pedagogy.
Between 2016 and 2019, our employees took part in Arctic expeditions in Russia and Norway. Field expeditions were carried out in the mountainous regions of Georgia and Russia.
From 2019 to 2020, members of the organization led the “Cross-Cultural Project on Mathematics Anxiety”. They reported on the gender differences in mathematics anxiety among samples from twelve countries across four continents.
Organizational Activities
From 2020 to 2024, our organization, in collaboration with other organizations, funded the International Annual Competition of Scientific Works “Slavery in the Past and Present.”
Research Activities
Our organization has over 600 publications in journals indexed in WoS and Scopus as of August 2025.
