The Museum’s portrait gallery has been enriched by a portrait of the Reverend Jonathan Nye (1783-1843), the second General Grand Master of the General Grand Encampment of Knights Templar of the United States.

Succeeding DeWitt Clinton, Jonathan Nye led the organization from 1829 to 1835 and played a notable role in the development of American Templary.

The portrait was painted in 2026 especially for the Museum’s collection by artist Lyudmila N. Bogutskaya (born 1979).
