On November 4,2026, the Museum of the History of the American Knights Templar (Houston, Texas, USA) unveiled its new Exhibition No. 042, dedicated to the historical uniform of a Knight Templar from Luray Commandery No. 19, Virginia.
Luray Commandery No. 19 was established on October 30,1890. In 1927, its membership numbered 103 Knights Templar.
The exhibition features a ceremonial uniform dating to approximately 1925—1926. The ensemble includes:
A uniform coat with the embroidered designation “VA 19”;
An original ceremonial belt of the Grand Commandery of Virginia;
An original Masonic apron;
A ceremonial headdress (chapeau);
Ceremonial cuffs.
The exhibition is of particular historical interest as an example of American Knights Templar ceremonial attire from the mid-1920s, reflecting the traditions of the Knights Templar commanderies in Virginia.
Exhibition No. 042 is a new addition to the historical uniform collection of the Museum of the History of the American Knights Templar, which is dedicated to preserving and studying the material heritage of American Knights Templar Masonry.
