Exposition 032. Dec. 30, 2025 – Western Side of the Museum

On December 30, the compositional arrangement of the western side of the Museum of the History of the American Knights Templar (Exposition 032) was completed.

The central place in the exhibition is occupied by a portrait of Sir Knight Joseph William Edwards (1832—1925) of Bethany Commandery No. 28, who served as Eminent Commander in 1872—1873 and 1875—1877. Bethany Commandery No. 28 was established in 1868 and was organizationally part of the Grand Commandery of Illinois of the Masonic Order of Knights Templar.

To the left of the portrait is the uniform of another knight from Bethany Commandery No. 28, which belonged to Casper Ruedy, a Civil War veteran, who also held the office of Eminent Commander in 1878.

On the right side stands a standard bearer from one of the commanderies of the Grand Commandery of Illinois.

In the background are racks displaying the swords of Knights Templar. The rack on the right is equipped with swords belonging to combat veterans, most of them former participants in the American Civil War.

Above is the Salem Cross.
